A little about the awards…
In 2013 we created and launched an innovative set of awards to highlight outstanding achievement and dedication within the technical theatre industry. Our unique awards give credit to dedicated individuals, who are often not recognised for their hard work behind the scenes. The awards function very simply, giving any individual working within the theatre industry the opportunity to both recognise the excellence of their colleagues, and gain recognition for the time and commitment they dedicate to our industry.
Last year the inaugural Technical Theatre Awards were presented at a well-attended ceremony at PLASA London 2013. Fifteen awards were presented on the Theatres Trust stand in the midst of thousands of exhibitors and visitors. With sponsors including Philips Entertainment, PRG, and Triple-E, our host for the evening was prolific multi award-winning lighting designer Rick Fisher.
After the immense success of the Technical Theatre Awards 2013, we are proud to announce the TTA’s will be returning to the ExCeL London for PLASA London in October 2014!
Nominations for 2014 opened on 1st January and from this point, anyone working in the industry has a period of 5 months to nominate individuals for any of the 17 awards up for grabs.
Simply visit the ‘Nominate’ page to submit your nominations. You’ll be asked to provide a short statement explaining your choice of nominee: this is your opportunity to tell us at the TTAs why the person or company you’ve chosen stands out above the rest and deserves some recognition, so don’t hold back!
Nominations close on 31st May 2014 and the Technical Theatre Awards Panel – a selection of experienced individuals working professionally within the industry, will draw up a shortlist of 3 candidates per award. Details of the lucky finalists are released online on 11th June 2014 when voting opens.
