The Technical Theatre Awards are a non-profit organisation started in 2013 to create a innovative set of awards to highlight outstanding achievement and dedication within the technical theatre industry. The awards are about giving credit to dedicated individuals, who are often not recognised for their hard work behind the scenes. The awards function very simply; to bring our amazingly creative industry closer together, giving everyone working within the technical theatre industry the opportunity to recognise the excellence of their colleagues.

For the first two years the Technical Theatre Awards were presented at a ceremony during PLASA London on the Theaters Trust Stage.

Last year the Technical Theatre Awards were held on the Sunbourn Yaght parked next to the eXcell Centre.

Nominations for TTA’s 2016 opened on 4th April and from this point, anyone working in the industry can register and nominate a colleague.

Simply visit the ‘Nomination Suggestion’ where you’ll be asked to provide a short statement explaining your choice of nominee: this is your opportunity to tell us at the TTAs why the person or company you’ve chosen stands out above the rest and deserves some recognition, so don’t hold back!

Nominations close on 25th May 2016 and the Technical Theatre Awards Panel (a selection of experienced individuals working professionally within the industry) will draw up a shortlist of candidates per award. Details of the lucky finalists are released online on 22th June 2016 when voting opens.
